DO NOT Take Two Tylenol

The old adage from country doctors was “Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.” As it turns out, this is bad advice. Fever is a natural process, a part of how your immune system functions. Circumventing this with aspirin or even white willow bark extract, is a recipe to prolong the illness and to perhaps experience greater effects from it. If fever is high (100-103°) a cloth moistened with water can provide relief. Once the cloth becomes warm, simply twirl it in the air for a few seconds, and it will be cold again. Far worse advice that aspirin, however, is to take Acetaminophen (Tylenol). The document linked below outlines the extreme danger that can accompany Tylenol usage to assuage a fever. Tylenol is toxic to the liver and the liver is taxed and vulnerable at such times. I know of a man who took excessive doses of Tylenol to relieve arthritis pain and wound up needing TWO liver transplants. His first transplanted liver turned out to be defective. For a period of over ten years, he has experienced a health crisis resulting in diminished health to the point where they almost weren’t going to allow the second transplant, fearing that he wouldn’t survive the procedure. A better method follows.

Bacterial- and viral-induced inflammation increases sensitivity to acetaminophen hepatotoxicity

Tylenol is a bad drug, to be used sparingly if at all. Please note that if you are ill, your liver is already working overtime. Hence treating fever with Tylenol is far worse than just using it for occasional headache or joint pain, both of which I also recommend against.

There is significant literature, largely concealed because it conflicts with the financial interests of Big Pharma, on the massive benefits of the tri-peptide glutathione in dealing with viral and bacterial infections. Glutathione is called The Master Antioxidant. The literature is replete with studies showing glutathione as a key player in reducing HIV, Covid, Colds, Flu, and even cancer. Glutathione is made within your body from the amino acids glycine, cysteine, and glutamine. While you can buy glutathione in capsule form, these typically have limited bioavailability. Liposomal formulas of glutathione score better, but the best method is to simply ingest cruciferous vegetables, supplement cysteine (NAC) and glycine, which I encourage as an antidote to glyphosate (RoundUp®).

During cold and flu season, I encourage getting plentiful sun exposure and/or supplementing vitamins A, D, K2, and the mineral zinc, in addition to liposomal glutathione during this part of the year or the above combination of precursors to glutathione. I also offer my personal approach to illnesses such as colds and flu: I simply fast, taking only water, until symptoms reverse. That usually takes 2-4 days. The benefit of not eating is that it tends to starve the pathogens responsible for the illness, as well as freeing up the significant energy consumed by the digestive processes. Fasting also triggers autophagy, helping to strengthen the immune sysetm.

Also, as you may recall, I advocated the use of nebulized hydrogen peroxide and iodine for any upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) here: Preventing and Treating Covid. In that article, I also talk about the quick fix if you don’t have a nebulizer handy (e.g., if you’re traveling) by adding peroxide to saline nasal spray. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the most potent antivirals available anywhere.

This cold and flu season, please join me and be one of those who doesn’t catch whatever is going around or at least shrugs it off.
